Craft & Draft is a handcrafted marketplace with a festival flair - celebrating SIX years in Radford, Virginia and organized by local non-profit MountainTrotter Arts and a dedicated group of volunteers! This festival started with a handful of dedicated and eager volunteers who wanted to see a street-style festival in our small city. Craft & Draft features modern & indie handcrafted vendors from all over our region.

Along with a large variety of artisans, crafters and makers, Craft & Draft rocks out all day long with live music, keeps you hydrated with a variety of local & semi-local craft-beer and keeps your belly full with local food trucks! Our event is FREE, FAMILY FRIENDLY , and DOG FRIENDLY- we're here to celebrate the amazing vendors - the artists, photographers, jewelry makers, creators, musicians, chefs, you name it - all high quality and completely unique and original.

Beyond crafting and drafting, we are proud to give back to our community! Each year, Craft & Draft chooses a local non-profit or charity to benefit. We're proud to say in the five years of C&D, we have GIVEN BACK $4,750 DOLLARS! Last year's recipients was the Radford Animal Shelter - we were honored to present them with a $1,000 check - all with the help of YOUR help & donations!

Our goal is to bring quality hand-crafted goods straight to you - our neighbors - and to have an enjoyable shopping experience while showcasing the value of the creative spirit. Never forget: A handmade item is made with love, with heart, with joy and is simply irreplaceable.

COVID - 19 UPDATE

July 24, 2020 Happy Friday Folks,
It pains us to make this announcement, but Craft & Draft will sadly not be held in person this year. So many in person shopping events have not been able to take place this year, and that absolutely breaks our hearts - craft festivals & markets are how so many artisans & crafters make their living or assist with things like bills, groceries, and dance lessons for the kiddos. Many makers have turned to online selling, which we know, it's just not the same. We get it. And we miss you. Thank you for continuing to support us.

Craft & Draft and
MountainTrotter Arts must err on the side of caution. In regards to Covid, even Professor Trelawney can't tell us what October will look like. Please know, we as a committee discussed, planned, and stayed up late thinking about this event & it's logistics; we waited until the last possible minute to make a decision. One of our goals at MTA is to help bring arts to our community and in turn to encourage locals & visitors to shop small & support local. That goal has not changed. We will be working towards creating on online C&D Virtual Portal to help connect you to local & nearby artisans. We look forward to partnering with local businesses & restaurants as well.

We are saddened that we will not be able to see your wonderful faces in person for what is our 6th year of Crafting & Drafting. But, we as an organization have to do what we feel is right to help slow the spread & put health and safety first. That said, we are excited to bring artisans, crafters, and makers straight to your screen - keep an eye out for more info on C&D VIRTUAL PORTAL soon!! In the meantime, wear your mask, wash your hands, stay safe & keep healthy!

Cheers,
Craft & Draft and MountainTrotter Arts

MountainTrotter Arts is a non-profit organization based in Radford, VA. With volunteer members, MTA is dedicated to showcasing and advocating for local artists, musicians, and creators. By creating free local events, MTA not only supports the local arts, but encourages the community to learn from the arts, enjoy what the arts has to offer, and shop local & small. Our events are proud to be inclusive and open to all.

Our mission is to promote the arts and create opportunities for artists, makers, and creators of all types in our mountain community.

We do this by facilitating arts-related events and collaborating with other organizations to enrich and educate the community while making the arts accessible for all. MountainTrotter Arts is committed to inclusivity and building bridges within our community. We maintain these connections by being fiscally, environmentally, and organizationally sustainable while giving back to the community in a variety of ways. Events and programming are designed to enhance the quality of life and economic development in the New River Valley, and to build the organization to provide space and service for arts and artists.

Craft & Draft is organized by a dedicated group of volunteer committee members, comprised of MTA Board members, community members, and artists!
